Mass for 2020

During the 2020 lockdown I composed a Jazz Mass in four sections. I submitted it to the BBC Young Composers competition, and although I didn’t win, it’s a series of pieces that I’m really proud of.

The Mass is scored for a traditional Jazz trio (piano, bass and drums) led by me on the keyboard, plus a violin, cello, trumpet and church choir – the talent available to me at my local church. It follows the traditional structure with a Kyrie, Gloria, Sanctus and Agnus Dei.
